Taking Care of Your Beautiful Skin

There’s no denying that beautiful faces start with beautiful skin.  How does one get that radiant, glowing skin that’s bouncy to touch? Does it have to have to be something that you’re born with?

The fact is, it’s not just a matter of DNA, a daily skincare routine will definitely get the job done.  I know everyone is busy, but the truth is beautiful skin is a lifelong process and if you want gorgeous skin 30 years from now the choices you make today will help make it happen.  Acne scars, skin discoloration, and deep wrinkles are just some of the skin problems that a simple skincare routine can help you avoid.  It’s as simple as these 3 easy steps:

Cleanse:

Every day our skin comes into comes into contact with dirt and other pollutants that should be gently removed by washing our face twice daily. Use a cleanser that is suitable to your skin types, such as a foaming liquid for acne, oily or combination skin, or a cream cleanser for dry skin.  This simple step prevents clogged pores, dullness, and even acne.

Tone:

A toner is a fast-absorbing liquid that should follow your cleanser and has several benefits.  It closes pores and tightens cell gaps after cleansing to reduce the penetration of impurities and environmental contaminants while correcting and balancing your skin’s PH level.  It is an additional cleanser as it removes excess dirt, traces of oil, make-up, chlorine and other minerals present in tap water.

Moisturize: It is important to note that our skin loses its natural ability to retain moisture as we grow older.  Doctors recommend using moisturizers year-round and for all skin types as its function is to hydrate and soften the skin while preventing water loss through the outer layers of the skin.

Include these 3 quick and easy steps in your everyday routine to reveal skin that’s healthy, glowing and just irresistible to touch!

@SHEblog Products are really based on your budget and skin type. The good news is there are thousands of products out there to meet every need. My advice is to purchase the entire line (Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer) as they work together. I personally have seen fantastic results using lines from Clinique, Neutrogena and Cetaphil. Creams vs Serums?? Use both! They both have different benefits and there’s no cutting corners when it comes to your beautiful skin😊 Look out for my upcoming post on serums!

@ TNT Alpha Female. Look for a toner with salicylic acid that gently removes dead skin cells that can build up in your pores and lead to acne. You should also make sure that the toner will nourish and hydrate your skin rather than strip it of its natural healthy oils.

@SHEblog What are your thoughts on “at home remedies” as beauty treatments. For instance oatmeal masks, cucumbers to relieve stressful eyes, egg whites for tightening pores etc etc. looking out for your response and you’ve started something really great here. Blessings

Home remedies are awesome! I am a big believer in natural products such as Oatmeal Masks, Cucumbers Eye Patches, and Granulated Sugar for exfoliation. However, what I will say is to test these natural products on a small area of your skin before applying liberally just to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction and be consistent in your usage if the natural product is working for you. Also, natural products don’t come with labels to tell you if it’s suitable to your skin type which is a critical aspect of proper skincare so don’t neglect your normal skincare routine because you’ve started incorporating natural products. Thank you always for your comments
