If I were to be very honest about myself I’m no perfume enthusiast. I’m not one of those girls that has 100 perfumers on their vanity and delights in wearing different fragrances every day depending on their mood.  If fact, the only time I purchase perfumes is when I’m choosing it as a gift for someone.  However, I was strolling through the mall one day with a girlfriend and we decided to browse through one of our usual stops Stechers, that has all sorts of lovely trinkets, including perfumes and that’s when everything changed. 

We were sampling perfumes and it was the very first time that I smelt what is now my all-time favorite perfume Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel.  It was love at first smell.  At this time, this perfume retailed for $1000.00 TTD, so I didn’t purchase at once but went home and couldn’t stop thinking about it, which was strange for me cause I’m not a perfume person.  So you guessed it, I got it at my next trip to the mall and I can tell you it was worth every cent!

That was maybe about 10 years ago and I kid you not, up till this day I hardly ever wear this perfume and don’t receive a compliment.  When I got it, I didn’t realize at that time that it was an international best seller.  Even when I go to perfume stores and I tell the clerks that it’s my favorite and I’m just looking to maybe try something else, they smile and nod and say well there’s nothing quite like that but I’ll show you what we have.  You don’t have to take my word for it, just try a google search and see what comes up as the number 1 best seller for women and even better than this, on your next trip to the mall sample it for yourself and share in the comments below your thoughts.

Best Ways of Removing Make-Up, Thoroughly but Gently

It’s just super important to remove all of your make-up at night if you want to wake up with clean, glowing, healthy skin.  Leaving your eye make-up on can actually lead to eye infections, broken eyelashes, and even styes!  And for your skin, it actually breaks down your collagen which causes dry skin and yes, even wrinkles.  But all is not lost, here are some of the tried and tested ways to gently remove your make up without damaging your delicate skin.

1. Use a Face Wash Specifically for Removing Make-Up – One of the proven most effective ways to remove your make-up is to use a good face wash.  One of the best that I’ve used to date is Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing and Make-Up Remover.  I follow this wash with toner and moisturizer, there no need to use any other product, not even to remove make-up from my eyes.
   
   
   
2. Use Micellar Water – Micellar water is truly an excellent product to have around when using make-up.  It not only thoroughly removes make-up after application but can also be used to correct mistakes in make-up application and does not leave your skin sticky and greasy.
   
3. Use Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is wonderful to remove make-up especially if you have dry skin.  It also works wonders to remove eye make-up or the beautiful matte lipstick that can sometimes be a little bit tricky.

What method should I use to remove my make-up if I have dry skin?

For persons with dry skin you should definitely use coconut oil which clearly removes your make up and leaves your skin hydrated.

How do I remove make-up completely from my eyes?

For your eyes soak some micellar water in round cotton pads and place over your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes then gently wipe off without pulling your skin.  This is excellent for removing eyeliner and mascara.

If I wear make-up every day is it damaging to my skin?

Make-up believe it or not can actually be good for your skin and advancements in the composition of most brands these days actually has ingredients that nourish and protect your skin.  Further to this, the layers of your make-up actually provide sun protection, not to mention the SPF that’s in most moisturizes and foundations.

Does make-up face wash dry out my skin?

Face wash for make-up will not dry out your skin any more than a regular face wash will.  However, you should always follow facewash with a toner and moisturizer suited to your skin type.

How effective are make-up wipes in removing make-up?

If you get a good brand of make-up wipes, it can be very effective.  However, I almost always use make-up wipes with another product such as coconut oil or micellar water so it’s convenient to have on hand but most effective when used with something else to prevent too much rubbing on the delicate skin on your face.
